PROJECT DETAILS

Hamilton Solar Farm will have an approximate installed capacity of 7MW and is located on land adjacent to the Hamilton Road industrial estate, Sutton-in-Ashfield. The solar energy generated will be exported to the local distribution network and will be enough to power over 2,300 homes per year.

The development will have several key benefits, including but not limited to:

  • The solar farm will generate clean, renewable electricity and will make a vital contribution to climate change targets of the UK’s transition away from fossil fuels

  • The site was chosen because of its proximity to the electricity substation adjacent to the site, and the large industrial area, which will benefit from the zero-carbon power generated by the park.

  • The site is located away from the settlement of Ashfield and does not have public footpaths within it. The limited number of residential properties close by will be screened by new hedges to minimise visibility.

*Note: Estimates based on 3,600kWh/annum average home consumption and CO2 grid intensity of 181g/kWh.
