PROJECT DETAILS

Wiggins Hill BESS will be able to store and release energy from the electricity network. It will have a storage capacity of up to 49.9MW and provide energy security to the local grid during times of peak demand.

The site sits adjacent to a development known as the Peddimore scheme which comprises an Amazon warehouse and electricity substation alongside other planned developments. The land is situated to the south side of Bulls Lane and on the east side of Wiggins Hill Road, Minworth, Sutton Coldfield.

Wiggins Hill BESS will offer energy security benefits, biodiversity and landscaping enhancements. Our technical team includes ecology, landscape and visual, noise, planning, and transport specialists who are helping us to design a sensitive and sustainable development.

The facility will connect to the Lea Marston to Sutton Coldfield / Peddimore overhead line via the pylon a few meters to the south of the site.

We expect to submit the planning application in Q4 2024.
